A Signature Series by Sease Gerig

Curated experiences that bring thoughtful people together.

Some conversations happen in conference rooms. Others happen over a meal, at the ballpark, inside a historic venue, or while sharing a story that few people have heard before.

Seat at the Table™ is Sease Gerig's invitation to the latter.

Each gathering brings a carefully considered group of people together in a distinctive setting for an experience worth sharing. There is no stage to perform on and no networking script to follow. Just genuine people, interesting places, and room for something meaningful to happen.

The Series

The room changes.
The intention does not.

Seat at the Table is a series of approximately six to eight gatherings each year across central Indiana.

Every event has its own setting, story, and rhythm. One may begin over breakfast. Another may take place at a sporting venue, a historic site, or behind the scenes at a place most people never get to see.

What connects them is the care behind the room.

The right people are invited. The experience gives everyone something to talk about. And the conversation continues long after the event ends.

An open seat is more
than a symbol.

The Seat at the Table mark includes one intentional absence: a missing dot.

That open space represents an open seat. It is a reminder that every conversation benefits from another voice, another perspective, and another person willing to join in.

The idea is central to the series. Seat at the Table is designed to make room for people who bring different experiences, questions, relationships, and points of view to the same conversation.

There is always room for one more.

Connection has always
been part of the work.

Long before networking became a category, Sease Gerig hosted small breakfasts and lunches with intention, bringing the right people into the same room to learn, connect, and build trust.

The late Dr. Gene Sease and his friend Jim Morris called the practice "friendraising."

The principle was simple: when thoughtful people come together in the right setting, meaningful connection follows.

Lou Gerig has carried that tradition forward, including his annual summer gathering at Pioneer Village during the Indiana State Fair. Seat at the Table continues that history in a new form, with each event built around an experience that creates natural opportunities for conversation.

The People Make the Room

A different kind of
networking event.

Seat at the Table brings together people who shape Indiana's communities and industries, including elected officials and public leaders, C-suite executives, mayors and community builders, nonprofit leaders, voices from media and sports, entrepreneurs, advisors, and trusted connectors.

The goal is not to collect contacts. It is to create the conditions for people to know one another more genuinely.

"This is unlike a typical networking event. It's clearly focused on creating genuine connection through an experience."

From the table

Every volume has its own story.

No two tables look exactly alike. The setting is never chosen simply for convenience. It is part of the experience, part of the story, and often the reason the conversation takes a turn people did not expect.
